It’s time for you to join us at MPavilion 2018—yes, we’re open in the Queen Victoria Gardens!

Presenting this year’s MPavilion to you comes with an inch of pride and a mile of excitement, and we hope you love it as much as we do. Designed by world-renowned architect and educator Carme Pinós of Barcelona’s Estudio Carme Pinós, and commissioned by the Naomi Milgrom Foundation, MPavilion 2018 now stands majestically in the heart of Melbourne. Watch a bird’s-eye video of MPavilion 2018 by Radar Kane:

Architectural photographer John Gollings captured the first images of MPavilion 2018 in the gardens. See a selection of John’s photos below.

MPavilion 2018 was brought to fruition with our build partners Kane Contructions and ACE Contractors, building surveyors Gardner Group, and landscape architects Tract, who won at the 2018 VIC Landscape Architecture Awards for their work on MPavilion 2017; lighting designer Ben Cobham of bluebottle; along with Coleby Consulting, Otway Precast and Britton Timbers International.

Naomi Milgrom AO, chair of the Naomi Milgrom Foundation, who commissioned Carme Pinós to design MPavilion 2018, said upon the opening: “Working with Carme to bring her inspiring MPavilion design to life has been an absolute pleasure. Carme’s vision opens Australia to conversations about how to make our cities more inclusive through design. It’s a privilege to commission a work with such international and future-thinking insight.”
