Since the opening of MPavilion in October, the research team at Monash University’s SensiLab have been listening to the sounds of the Earth directly beneath MPavilion via Big Earth listening. Join SensiLab as they take you on an amazing sonic journey through the highlights of this science/art experiment that examines the acoustic ecologies of Melbourne. You’ll be able to float beneath the surface of MPavilion in virtual reality, plus SensiLab will demonstrate how long-term acoustic data combined with state-of-the-art machine learning allows us to understand the rhythms and flows of our city and natural environment.

Using unique new electronic musical interfaces developed by SensiLab researchers, a live musical performance inspired by the sounds of MPavilion will allow you to “see with your ears”.
